I am a first-generation Italian-American writer with a love for history, books, and the cinema. I hold an undergraduate and graduate degree, the first in English Literature and the second in Secondary Education. I’ve travelled in North America, Europe, Africa, Asia, South America and the Caribbean. I’ve worked and spent months in Switzerland, France, and Italy. I’ve also travelled the region of Nord du Pas in France, the setting for my novel.
I have eclectic book tastes. Some favorites are: War and Peace, Jane Eyre, A Pillar of Iron (Caldwell), Steppenwolf, Heart of Darkness, Lolita, The Old Man and the Sea, Pride and Prejudice, A Tale of Two Cities, Mary Queen of Scots, Here Be Dragons, Outlander, Game of Thrones: A Song of Ice and Fire, Quo Vadis, Queenmaker, Roman Blood, Rebecca, and The Black Rose.
Movies I love: The Count of Monte Cristo, Braveheart, Vanilla Sky, The Lord of the Rings, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Swedish version), Indochine, Kama Sutra, Arabian Nights, Cinema Paradiso, Dances with Wolves, Matrix, Clash of the Titans, Zorro, and Timeline.
I could list more books and movies, but Ill refrain. However, if I were marooned for months in a cabin with DVD capability and electricity and could have only one book and movie, I would choose, War and Peace (the longest and with all the facets of a great story) and The Count of Monte Cristo (love the screenplay and the Count <g>).
My writing credits include short fiction at OrchardPressMysteries.com, in The Scriptor, and in the anthology, Summer Tapestry. I review for the website UNRV Roman Empire. I’ve worked as a part-time book publicist and manuscript editor, and I’m a former Bookseller Liaison and current member of the Historical Novel Society. In addition, I’m a member of The Barrington Writers Workshop, and a past participant in The Algonkian Writers’ Conference, Northwestern University’s Writers’ Workshop and RWA Conference. On the Edge of Sunrise is my first historical novel. Presently, I’m working on the stand-alone mystery sequel.

I learned years ago to ride with an English saddle. I have a few funny stories from that and one published short story.
